MAVICA is the project of London-based Spanish alternative pop artist Marta Casanova. Her sonic roots are in traditional (Spanish) folk which she seamlessly blends with indie, pop and electronic sounds, while singing in both English and Spanish.
She studied Performance and Production at the London College of Creative Media where she wrote her debut EP "Gone" which amassed over 5 million streams and received acclaim from The Line of Best Fit, The 405, and The Revue, who called it "simply stunning”
In September 2023, she released her debut album sometimes a person never comes back (but that’s okay), which received support from Rolling Stone, Billboard Latin, Clash, C-Heads, Early Rising, Paste, BBC Radio 1, KCRW and got her on the cover of Spotify's 'Radar Indie' & Tidal's 'Global Rising' playlists. With almost 18K followers on TikTok and almost 11,4K on Instagram, she is ready to give a second album to her fans.
MAVICA sold out her debut London headline show in December 2023 at The Grace and has opened for Edwin Raphael, Alice Phoebe Lou, Roo Panes, Blanco White and Low Island. She’s played festivals like Primavera Sound, Wilderness and Mad Cool and showcases incl. ILMC’s London Calling, BBC Introducing “futuretense”, SXSW & The Great Escape where she was one of Lead Country Spain’s Emerging Talents this year.
